Default RE: DCA on Memorial Day

Fishpoint and I banged on the buffs pretty hard this morning (since we had orders from the Pres ).
I also had over 10 pull-offs. Very soft buffs that fought very hard. My poor boat had a tough time with all the fish. I'm pretty sure I exceeded my little craft's weight rating, and I'm quite certain we were in violation of the fire code's occupancy limit. My whole fish tub was full, and topped off with 2 bags full of Judd's fish, plus a half dozen in the front of the boat that wouldn't fit anywhere else.

Biggest fish of the day was a largemouth buff coming in at 13 pounds. Don't see too many of those, but we got several today. Usually get the smallmouths instead. Those largemouths are shaped just like a blimp with fins.

There was 1 rather stubborn carp that we had to shoot a total of 4 times to keep him in the boat. I orginally had him in the boat for about 20 minutes, and then he suddenly flipped back into the water and tried to hide near the bank under a log, so I had to shoot him a second time. Then while we were loading some of Judd's fish onto the boat for easier transport, he flipped out again. Judd hit him with the first shot, but he pulled off and went a bit deeper. I took the final shot and made sure he received a proper attitude adjustment before I took him off the arrow for the last time. Too much stinkin' work for1 stinky carp. [:'(](fun though)
We only counted him once.
