Take a closer look at the tail. Channel cats have a forked tail. Channel cats vary in colour but always have the forked tail. I have caught them black as coal w/mottled belly, tones of green/brown and varying shades of gray/blue. Here's pics of the 2 bigger channel we caught last night B4 the bty's died in my camera[&o]. The one w/me is greenish w/white bellyand the one of my buddy is grey. We also caught 12 drum and I got 1 bullhead. We got 5 cats total all over 30"....... luckily we got the pics of the biggest 2

mine was 33.25 and my buddies was 34.5.
How are those cats to eat and have you ever fished there at dusk/night. Cats in my area tend hit at dusk and then again at 1-2am. Thats from shore........ from a boat you can hit the right spots and they hit all day. You just have to search for the spot that is most active in a given hole. 3-4 guys in a boat can hook 100 fish or more on a good day....... with a good capt.
