Default RE: Why do you use a crossbow?

ORIGINAL: Gimphunter

My 45/70 and 7 MM Mag are my biggest, most fun and now most feared. <smile>

As for the cranking, for target shooting I'll stick with my powerful and noisy portable drill. In the field, I'm likely to use it in the morning before I go out and will have to do my best with the standard crank if I need it.

Some reality for me is excepting that I'm likely to see 100% (or close to it) pass through shots. I'm willing to go after the deer. Maybe not the arrow. I may not have the ability to do both. A cost of hunting for us. I have one of those leg supports (I think it's a Steady Eddie) that helps to hold up the bow. Just another thing to work out how to do "it."

Now if I could just figure out how to set up a sturdy stand I can get into and not have it walk-off overnight.
7mm rem mag is gun i like for shooting over 500 yards as we do on our mountains here in pa..
