RE: Short barreled bolt gun with iron sights
Remington makes a Model 7 in .308 Win. (as well as other chamberings). It is light, short and has iron sights, just what you are looking for. I'm not sure if the new ones come with iron sights but they did a few years ago. It's a great little rifle and not too expensive.I have one and useit often although I have a scope on mine (took off the iron sights)
