Actually it would probably help your consistency and accuracy a lot, but I'd like to see some tests.
Also it will make your arrows much quiter... adding weight to an arrow allows it to absorb more of the string's energy, therefore having less energy to waste on sound...
It would help cover for a bow thats not perfectly tune... Not to mention you'd get better penetration..
Straight arrow flight (meaning no oscillation, minnowing etc) is the best thing for a bow. You'd be suprised how much efficiency you lose when the arrow flops around in flight..
