As you probably noticed at the range, it has a lot to do with your sights. The sights on most handguns are sure not meant for fine shooting. The sights that came on my Ruger SBH would cover the whole target at 50 yards. Its hard to shoot real well with those kind of sights. Most 100 yard pistol hunters use scopes.
