Default RE: Best Value in Tracking Collars

Trushot,

I run dogs on deer and in fox and coyote pens. I too bought my first tracker this past year. I bought the Innotek RD-300. Even though the tracker works well...if I would have known then what I do now...I wouldn't have bought it.

Problem #1...Anyone can take the battery out of the collar...Once the battery is out...that is it.

Problem #2...With a brand new battery in...the collar will last 8 days and usually not a full eight days. When you run on the outside...your hound may be gone for three weeks or more depending on if there is some type of feed out there.

My suggestion is a Quick Track unit and collars... The collars will last for two years if you leave them on cont. and they work pretty well.

You usually can find some second hand units and collars on the classified sections of the fox hound sites and the coon hunter sites.
