ORIGINAL: Mr. Longbeard
Shot two Limb Hangers... Both of them had 10" beards... Not much to say other than
No green fields
No chuffa patchs
No food plots
Just 40,000 acres of heavily hunted public land
You seem to think there is no better adversary than a public land gobbler. Believe me, a private land gobbler can be just as hard to kill as a public land gobbler. You at times seem tolook downonall the private land hunters. Get off your high horse. If I were hunting 40,000 acres of land, I could kill a couple of "pressured gobblers" also, and I'm just a private land hunter. You could hunt on 40,000 acres of public land all season without seeing another hunter. That's a lot of land that can hold lots of turkeys.I mean no disrespect, but it sounds like in your posts, if your not hunting on public land, you aren't a real turkey hunter. I hope you don't truly believe this, because if you do, you are most definately wrong. Most private land hunters chase one or two gobblers the whole season. When they know they are being hunted, they can become extremely difficult to kill, just like a heavily pressured public bird. Congrats on your two nice longbeards. BTW, I don't hunt in green fields, chufa plots, or food plots.
