Default RE: Shooting in a string??????

Yep--I forget where I got the idea for the jig (saw one somewhere), and my main intent at the time was to just have something to hold the string taut so I could put a serving on (which was basically what the one I saw did), instead of trying to keep umpteen different bow lengths on hand. Little wheels started turning, and I got with one of the maintenence men where I used to work, and we (he) had a jig put together before my 12 hr shift was over. That first one did ok, but since then I have improved the design to be a little more sturdy and adjustable. Nothing fancy, but does the trick--I can put enough tension on the string to bow some 1 3/4 square steel tubing. Even with this, it still requires some shooting to get all of the slack out of the twists--just not as much. If anyone wants the specs, just let me know and I will see if I can write down some legible plans. One thing to remember though--dacron strings will stretch like crazy, but will shrink back up--kinda' tricky doing those.
