Critters - We call them carpet moths. But the same thing as dermestids, there is a reason for them to get there. I know bird seed, kept inside, will bring them. Dog food and various other things are how it usually starts. The end result is the mounts, the hair still retains the protein that they need for food. Freezing will kill them but it will not stop reinfestation.
