RE: The age old debate...270 or .30-06?
This is a paper argument. Measuring miuntia from a chonograph or a paper target is one thing.... but actual field experience and results are another. I'm sure we'll get more than a few from both sides extolling their caliber's virtues.
The real news is,,,,.... you can miss just as bad with a 270 as with a 30/06
Placement is what counts......bullet diameter and weight mean little to an animal with it's lungs torn open.
Hunting with a 270 with a 150gr bullet is done all around the world for lotsa game....and the 30/06 is probably just ahead in the numbers for the same bullet weight, although I prefer the 180....but one is not appreciably better except in the eyes of those that hold the guns.
