RE: The age old debate...270 or .30-06?
I don't claim to be very knowledgable at all about this debate but whenever I bought my first center fire work-horse rifle I went with a .270 over the 30-06 even though the same model rifle was the same price simply because I had heard that it is supposedly "flatter" due to a lighter bullet plusprobably 99.9% of the game it'll be pointed at will be whitetail deer in Mississippi. I plan to purchase a 30-06 someday (if not something bigger actually)and head west to try my luck on a big horn but whether or not it'll totally replace my .270 is still up in the air. For now I'm extremely happy with my choice, though I have yet to harvest anything other than paper and coffee cans with it.
