RE: Ruger No.1
I used to have a 1A in 7mm Mauser... I loved it. It would shoot 1 1/2" groups regularly. I'm sure if I had known about the forend hanger modification, and floating the forend, etc.. it would probably have done much better. Aesthetically, it was wonderful. A classic, graceful rifle, with really nicely figured wood on it. In my more youthful ignorance and desire for "something different" I traded it off.... not a good decision. If I had the money, I'd get another in a heartbeat. Probably one of the stainless ones...
