Bryan,
I'm sure they consider it a gel. It comes out as a liquid and gels relaly fast. If I had to describe it, I guess I'd call it a very viscuous liquid. Small beads do squeeze out the sides, but I just let them dry and they shrink down to almost nothing.
I did shoot the arrows that I fletched yesterday evening. The advice I got on the other thred was right. Wait at least 24 hours. Nothing I couldn't fix, but I did have one vane come about 3/4 of the way off on release. The thing flapped all the way to the target and hit about a foot low.
The duravanes don't steerquite as well as the feathers, but the helical is much better than the straight. I guess I still have some decision making to do.
I fletched one arrow as a 70x105 degree 4 vane just for kicks. Doesn't fly any better. In fact, I think it flies worse.

I'm enjoying this.
