RE: Multi-owner deer camp/hunting property; anyone doing it?
Owning land with friends is not trouble if you set it up right. 1st off get only get as few people together as needed to afford the land. You dont want overcrowding!! Make sure all of your goals, hunting styles, methods, ideas, management(QDM or whatever), work ethics and attitudes are cohesive. All these things must then be put into the by-laws. Again, I say by-laws, by-laws, by-laws!!! Define everything in them from the start.
My club is called FCHC, Inc. 8 of us own 200 acres of mostly woods mixed food plots in northern MO. We have guidelines for everything setup including harvests, guests, work days, transfer ofshares, andpenalitiesfor violating them.Everything we have has been created with the assistance of an attorney. Rules can be changed or added only with majority votes. We have our differences but overall the land and camraderie is enjoyed by everyone.
