Default RE: Stand Hunting...

npaden,

It's kind of like arguing politics or which is the best football team, logic is usually thrown out the window, and people approach the issues with their prejudices.

Try using empirical evidence to convince an anti-gunner that right to carry laws reduce crime and that
the permit holders commit almost no crimes. They won't listen or really argue with you. Instead, it will be a bunch of name calling, your an ignorant redneck, etc. To them guns = bad, if more people are carrying guns then there must be more violence. They won't actually argue facts. It's the same type of thing when people bash somebody else's hunting preferences, preferences that sometimes are regional or are what somebody was raised to do as "right."
In my book, a hunter should follow the laws, be respectful of animals, practice proper gun safety, and not act like a complete idiot. Statistics show that as a percentage of the population, hunters are declining. We ought to stick together.

I don't mean that people should be "accepting of everybody and let's all sing Kumbaya."
If I disagree with someone I will let them know, and if someone thinks that my hunting methods could be improved (they can), I want to hear about it. But posting things like your bow sucks, your a lazy slob for hunting in a stand, your not a real hunter for using a rifle, are ignorant.

That's all for today's sermon
