WOW! Patriot Speeds
I have been shooting this dually Patriot a little more and really am beginning to like it. I decided today to try a few different arrow weights through her to see if there was a preference for heavy or light arrows. Tests were shot with string loop and peep.
Here is what I got at 28" draw:
60#: 335 grain PSE 300 = 294 (64# KE)
381 grain ACC 3-49 = 277 (65# KE)
428 grain ACC 3-60 = 265 (67# KE)
490 grain AC Kinetic 340 = 250 (68# KE)
66# 335 grain = 315 (74# KE)
381 grain = 298 (75# KE)
428 grain = 285 (77# KE)
490 grain = 268 (78# KE)
It is interesting that the bow maxs out at 66# (tested on 2 scales), which is fine with me given the KE I am getting at 66#. It is also interesting that the factory spec sheet for this bow gave it an IBO speed rating of 312 fps, yet with a string loop and peep, I was getting 315 with an arrow that is 5 grains over IBO weight.
It is going to be interesting to see what kind of numbers I get with the tall brace height Black Knight (when it arrives).
