I would too run a patch through a couple time and then a very little oil on one then a clean patch.I just bought a rem BDL stainless and when I looked at the barrel it looked like it had been shot,asked the dealer and he assured me it hadn't.
When I get a new gun or used I allways check the barrel to see if anything has gotten in there by mistake before firing.
