You didn't say if your using a bow, rifle, muzzle loading or shotgun. All the above information is good but the main advise I'd offer is whatever your hunting with is practice, practice, and practice some more. And have complete confidence in your weapon of choice. Don't wait until opening morning to drag your weapon out. Know where it shoots, what loads your shooting best,and did I say practice? Gettin up in the stand, playing the wind, and all the scouting won't do much good unless you can make the ethical shot and put your game down in my opinion. And while your doing all the practicing, make sure you hunt with the same ammo you sight in with. I don't bow hunt but I'm sure a bowhuntercan offer some advise if the same applies to bows.I was green once as with all of us. The best thing I can tell you is not to get discouraged if you don't harvest a deer for the first year or so. It happened to me for the first couple of years and it made me a better hunter.
