RE: Hunting under YOUR terms
There are probably more considerations than the ones that immediaately come to mind for me.My first reaction is that I am a hunter first and foremost and while I may derive more satisfaction from taking game with archery equipment.(I do) My primary interest is hunting and I will use every weapon that is legal for a particular season. While I respect those who have chosen to limit themselves to archery equipment that will never be me,I enjoy rifle hunting to much,in fact still hunting with a rifle out west brings me as much satisfaction as treestand hunting for deer at home.I love it all!
In terms of equipment there are some things that while they may not meet my idea of a simple uncomplicated, rugged weapon,I have no problem with what others use, provided it is legal.I do have self imposed limitations with shooting distances with both bow and rifle. While my shooting is as good as ever,I find more and more comfort with the closer archery shots and am disciplined in the sense that I will not force a shot.
I don't know if any of these ramblings are in line with what Ryan was asking?
