Default RE: 3 days was a bust

The public land is LBj National Grasslands. Texas is 3% public land. The smallest percentage in the nation. Of that 3% I don't know how much is open to hunting. On the ranch I hunt there is no feed put out. There are wheat fields planted. It is predominantly a cattle ranch. The property next door is all planted in wheat with no cattle. The property next door also has more hardwoods and higher ridges so it has nothing to do with putting out feed. That is not a statement in defense of the ranch by any means. I did see more birds on public land than I did on private. Its just the facts. Just because a piece of land is private doesn't mean there are feeders or that birds will jump in your lap. For all I know they may very well have had more pressure than the public birds. I don't know how many hunters have been in either place before me.
