Default 3 days was a bust

3 days of hard hunting. I got home last night after spending 1 day on public land and 2 on private. I saw more birds on the public land on Tuesday than I did on the private land on Wednesday and Thursday. On public land I saw a dozen hens and zero toms. I had one gobbling for about 45 minutes and was working closer to him when it started raining HARD. I never saw him or heard another peep out of him.Tuesday evening I headed to the private land I have hunted for the past couple of years. I checked the usual roost spots and only got one gobble and it was on the next property. In 2 days the only gobbling I heard was on the next property and I could not get that bird to cross the creek and 2 fences between us. I saw 4 hens and 1 jake in the 2 days. The jake was henned up and would not come in or even gobble. I did call 2 of the hens in and got to practice drawing my bow from my blind. That was not worth the $350 I paid to hunt that land. I can go back for another day without paying any more but don't know if I want to waste the gas. wednesday and Thursday on the private land had beautiful weather, sunny with a light breeze and temps in the low 70s. I just knew I would be on birds. Oh well, I have 3 tags left, I'll be going back to the public land I guess!
