Default Opening day bird in MO! (Updated with story)

[blockquote]It was Sunday, the day before the Missouri turkey season opened when my buddy Shawn and I headed out to his farm to roost the birds for the morning. We blew the owl call, located the birds and planned for the morning. I was really excited because there were a bunch of birds and it was my turn to hunt - Shawn was running the camera. We got up early, around 5, got all our stuff together and headed out. When we got to where we planned on setting up, there was a bird roosted less than 100 yards away. We were trying to be very quiet but i accidently stepped on a stick and it made a crack. Thats when the bird, a big gobbler, sounded off for the first time that morning. We slowly crept into our natural ground blind, set up the camera, and waited.

He ended up gobbling over 60 times till he flew down straight toward us and landed in the field about 70 yards away. My heart started pounding as he came closer, but then a couple hens came running across the field. Imediately his attentionturned from B-Mobile, to the two hens right next to him. They headed off in the other direction and the bigguy followed. I was a little disappointed but knew it was still very early. Not 5 minutes later, birds that had flows down at the end of the field started running toward our decoys. I noticed one had a white head and then realized that it was two jakes with a hen. When the two jakes stepped within 15 yards i could no longer resist. In seconds i was at full draw asking Shawn if he was on them. At his signal i released, sending my Tightpoint broadhead right through his chest. He limped off and piled up on the edge of the field not 30 yards away.

What a way to start the Missouri turkey season! Even though it wasnt a big gobbler, it was my first turkey with a bow out of a natural builit ground blind with a camera and everything. The camera and the natural blind make everything extremely difficult!
