After the pulled shot, I was aggravated, so I decided to try again, and shot a paper plate at a measured 25 yards, the plate is a tyical paper plate, 9 inches I think. Same gun, choke, and load, only 25 yards with a rangefinder.
Its amazing how much difference just 5 yards can make with a pattern. 10 yards with a shotgun is almost like 100 yards with a rifle.
And y'all are dead right about it being easy to pull a shot to the point of a miss at close range. I have missed 3 birds in my life, all were inside of 15 yards and one was at only 8

. If you hunt them long enough, you are going to miss...
My best friend has one of those custom made tubes and old country boy made for him, and with that choke his pattern at 20 yards isn't much bigger than the top of a dixie cup and I have seen him miss birds at 27 steps with that gun. Its really almost TOO tight.
