RE: Tribute & Ally Same Bow???
The Tribute obsolete. That's pretty funny! Why don't you call up Bowtech and tell them that next year they should only sell one bow and declare all other bows obsolete.
I may not be as experienced in the ways of archery as you guys are but I just liked the Tribute a little better. More about my decision on the two bows with no accessories, speed mods and set at only about 56#:
(1) There was very little difference in speed at this setting (chron'd). I will hunt at 60# and I recognize there will be around 5 fps difference. But the Tribute even at 60# is plenty fast (Birth Certificate IBO rating of 300 fps).
(2) The Tribute is about 2" shorter ATA and has a 1/2" more brace height.
(2) I did not think the Allegiance was as smooth to pull back. It should not be surprising that two bows with different risers, two different ATAs, and two different limb angles would be different on the draw. I liked the draw on the Tribute better. It makes sense that the faster bow might take more energy to draw.
(3) There was more hand shock (twang) with the Allegiance. I'm sure that
after accessories this distinction could be limited. But bare bow, the Tribute felt better at release.
(4) Lastly, the weight difference was not important to me. I am going to sit in a treestand with my bow. If I were hunting elk in Colorado then I would have seriously thought about the weight differential.
(5) Tribute includes donation to the troops.
I really like both bows and would have been happy with the Allegiance, I just happened to like the Tribute a little more. Obviously this is one of those personal preference things.
