Default RE: Turkey Hunting

ORIGINAL: GMMAT

If you read my story from Saturday.....you'll see I'm having a blast!

Are you using a blind?

I heard gobbling until about 9:45. NONE of the birds I had a chance at came IN gobbling (though the 7 jakes LEFT gobbling...lol).

Heck...I might have just been set up where they wanted to come......and MY calling likely had nothing to do with their interest in the area. Who knows?

Kepp at it. I will be!
I'm not using a blind, but I'm not sure if it would make any difference. I would at least like to hear one gobble. I think the weather, and hunting pressure has these (Middle TN)birds jacked up. I have to say that I still get a rush when they come in but it just doesn't feel the same when they don't gobble. I would like to see them fired up, ready to fight or do what they do when the hens are ready. I almost feel like I'm hunting a fall season and not Spring. I have had zillions of hens to come in from thin air, I'm not sure if there not ready yet or this is a late Spring. Also since i'm not useing a blind I would like a little warning as to were they are. I still have several days to hunt, hopfully they will be turning it on soon.
