Default RE: Fitness/Exercise

I try to lift 3-5 days a week, I'm pretty set in my ways as I've been doing it now for about 30years. I used to lift heavy but since the years are creeping up on me I keep the weights down now. Big bench presses, squats and deadlifts are a thing of the past, I can get reasonable results by lowering the weight and adding reps. It's difficult to change your body though when all it's used to doing is extreme heavy weights for so many years. From powerlifting through highschool and into college as well as strongman competitions after that,I'm used to a certian way of lifting. This unfortunately leads to injuries as I get older. It also does not help to keep my weight down. I am trying to stay atmy college and NFL playingweight of 310lbs +/- but I'm at about 325lbs so I have a few to lose. I would even like to break the 300lb mark (haven't been below there since I was 19)

I walk often and stay active. I like totake 3-4 day backpack trips with my friends into remote areas so I am in pretty decent shape for my age 42. Dragging a deer outhas always beeneasy for me sometimes I'll even carry them out.

I think staying in shape greatly helps in hunting, not only from the physical aspect but from a mental one as well. A fit body will tend to function better both physically and mentally.

Germ....talk about core strength...I'm the epitome of core strength. That's all I've worked on for 30 years!
