If you don't like the 30-06's recoil, a limbsaver pad is soooo amazing! My grandpa put one on his Winchester Model 70 XTR, and we were at the range, and we had set up some empty shotgun shells 50 yards away to shoot at with the 22 LR, and he tried shooting the shotgun shells with the 30-06! So basically,he turned the gun into a plinker!!!!!
