RE: Full metal jacket arrows / broadhead line up
If the tip is not centered the broadhead blades will not be uniform around the arrow and the tip will be slightly to one side and that littleoffset weight will make the arrow steerout of control when shot. It's the same principle as having a bullet that isn't symetric. Try cutting a chunk out of a bullet tip or not having it aligned with the center of the casing and see what happens. Match shooters make sure the bullet tip has no nicks in it and that it is seated perfectly. A mass that is not perfectly tuned will steer in the direction of the heavier part. And because the arrow is slightly rotating the mass will be rotating too. A good example is a bottle rocket. All of the weight is on one side of the stick the rocket is on. When the propellant goes off the thing flies all over the place. Now look at a model rocket. You've aligned the nose properly and the 3 fins are all evenly placed. The rocket goes straight up in a controlled trajectory.
If I'm wrong about this please someone correct.
P.S. The ASD looks like a pretty slick device. I've seen them in the store and really didn't take too much notice.
