I used to make the argument that the .30-06 wasn't ideal for any type of hunting...it was just adequate for a lot of hunting.

I still believe that's true.

There's been a helluva lotta cartridges come and go in that time (since 1906) and the .30-06 is still very high in sales all over the country. There's probably more of them sitting in closets throughout the United States than the next ten contenders put together. (except the .30-30) and for darn good reason.....it works again and again and it don't seem to make any difference what you're hunting.....it works.

For those that say it's going away.....maybe but it's clearly not the opinion of a lot of posters here!!!!
