I have read on several post latly that the 30-06 is going away. This is laughable. THe round has been around for almost 100yrs has taken just about anything you care to mention. ammo is ever where it will handle anything in north america. (granted Id carry more gun for anything that hunts back) But to think just because there alot of hot new .30 calibers out there dont for a second think its going away. I bet they said the same thing when the .300 win mag came out. SO for you new guys looking for there 1st big game rifle dont sell the old 30-06 short its still king in most deer camps.
