Pdq has given you some good advice. Unlike rifles where one size fit's most, bows are a much more personal thing. Proper fit is the most important aspect. I think a quality proshop is the only way to buy a first bow. All manufactures make some great entry to mid level bows that do not cost an arm and a leg. Once you get setup properly by the proshop, this board is a great place to find answeres to more specific questions and any kind of help you may need.
