My "close call" was with a big 8 pointer the 4th day of the '06 season. I came here and stated exactly what happened. I got overwhelmed and picked a VERY bad spot on the deer to aim at. I hit....he got hurt....but luckily it was only a flesh wound (I saw this deer and have subsequent photos of him in the field).

MY fault. No excuses. "I" picked a TERRIBLE aiming point......and was shaking when I did THAT! Period.
