Even though I haven't seen a hen or tom since last season on my place, I still managed to get a good bird this morning on opening day in Louisiana. I really wasn't expecting anything, but obviously this bird just moved in. Just goes to show, you never know. Bird weighed 20 lbs. 6 oz., spurs were 7/8" and 1", and had a 9 inch beard.

Congrats on the first bird superstrutter. Still have a couple weeks yet in Maryland before the season opens. I also vote for Thunderchicken Express for a team name.

Season here opens up Saturday. I work that morning but when I get off at 3, I'll be headed straight to the blind.
