Get some emory cloth and some people actially put the nipple in a drill. Then as the nipple spins they hold the emory cloth on it and smooth all that out. Then the cap will fit on there. Or you could try a new nipple. Spares are always welcome.

Sounds like the rifle is shooting accurate for you... That is the main thing.
