Well I am an old man and I go now knowing if I don't, I'll just need to Go later, and it may be at the wrong "GO" time!

And I'd rather use a roost instead of a log or worse yet grab that tree only to have it break at the wrong time!

Took my 8yr old daughter yesterday. We didn't get on a bird, but did find fresh scratching! She got to see a good show put on from our friendly wood ducks and mallards, and enjoyed our hunt so that was a good thing.
Sooo much rain last spring put my property out for turkey hunting, and ended up my fist time in memory not taking one there. Hopefully if the turkey gods see it fit I'll be folding one up in that ol swamp pretty soon for team 2!!
How's the scouting and youth hunts going for everyone out there this weekend!?

It's great you got the opportunity to take your daughter out hunting. My kids are grown now but will still talk about the hunts we shared when they were youngsters. Our grandson is two now and I look forward to sharing time afield with him sometime soon.
Good weekend of scouting. Found a few birds and had the chance to watch twelve hens and two long beards fly across the river, one by one. Looking forward to opening day.

My daughter and I did not shoot a bird, but we did enjoy the hunt.
We heard birds gobble on the roost, made the move on them and set up.
Thats all part of it, she enjoyed the owl and crow calling. We had a good time.
We need a team name, whats the official vote?
Arrowmaster for captian?

HA!!!!

Did some more scouting this weekend, and the results were not as good as they had been being. Heard one bird gobbling from the roost. It was a really good bird...3-4 year old. But, I only saw one other gobbler. I reckon that's good enough. You can only kill em one at a time, anyway!
