Been out quite a few times lately and had some close encounters but just no good shots available. Like last evening - 3 does and a fawn all less than 20 yards, but I'm out of position and unable to move with so many eyes bobbing around. Two evenings ago I had a dandy 4x4 (which has given me fits a few times this season) trot straight toward me then veer off behind trees just as he got into range. Got to keep trying, I guess. Seen lots of neat stuff - covey of Hungarian partridges, a few nice cock pheasants, a bat catch a moth, and a skunk that strolled past my foot.

my son and i have been hunting every chance we get.the action has been pretty slow i think the weather is still to warm.hopefully this weekend things will pick up temps are dropping.good luck talk to you all in awhile.

We had a nice week of fishing then hunting. The prize of the fishing trip was this 24" brown I caught after seeing it follow some salmon up river. During the early muzzleloader my dad killed this 5 pt sika stag. I killed this 8 pt with a kicker and another doe. The other photo is of the type of terrain that the sika inhabit. I'll be headed out Sat morning to start bow hunting whitetails again and will prob hunt everyday in some fashion till then the middle of November. Good luck to everyone.

The boys are starting to hit the scrapes pretty heavy around me. I might have seen a buck tonight before dark but by the time I grabbed my binocs it was over the hill.

Sorry for not checking in lately.
I've been out a couple times and I had a decent 8pt at 20 yards but I choose to pass.
Hitting it hard starting next week.

I xx-lunged a nice doe yesterday afternoon.

Bucks are harassing the does and the action has been good. Good time to be in the woods.

got us a doe last night. she came down the hill what i thought was by herself. i stood up got turned got ready for the shot.then i hear something else coming down the hill look see its another deer this one looks to be bigger,now i think this is mom so i turn that way next thing i hear is grunting .crap its a small buck chasing her quick turn around before she is gone. i gave her a couple blats to stop her and the rest is history she went about 60 yards. weather is going to be almost 80 today not good.but they are calling for snow friday night into saturday.that might get the big boys on there feet. good luck!!
