Well guys we already have 1 buck down thanks to deernutz!!!!!! But no team name or no captain yet. We need to get on this.

Here's a better pic guys. He didn't score well, but of course I never shoot a deer for score. I look for mass which this guy had.

He scored 126.5.

I was thinking our name could be Team Edge. Since the edge of the broadhead we choose closes the deal for us bowhunters.


As for cap. We definately need to get on it. I would but there could be days where I can't get on line.

I like Team Edge. I don't think I have ever heard that name in any contest I have participated in. It has my vote. Has everyone checked in yet? Any volunteers or nominations for captain?

I looked back in over the thread and and only grneyemonstr has not checked in yet. How long do we give him before we ask for an alternate. Some seasons have obviously started already and others are starting soon. Hopefully everyone on the team stays active and participates regularly on the thread and keeps it more interesting.

Congrats deernutz! I love mass too. Team edge is fine by me. I got a pic of the double main beam buck today. In hard horn. Not quite as big as I'd hoped for. Still proble gross just shy of 170 mom typical. Poor mass really hurts him. Still lookin forward for the real big one to finally show up. I'm hoping he blows up to the 220" range. Would have been around 205" last year. I missed him.... Twice....in an hour. Not planning on seein anything out of him til about November

Well wi opened today. Saw some does and a goofy buck whose antlers ran down his face instead of up and out.

Great day to sit. I also like team edge.
Next time to the woods will be next Friday for me. Looks like rain tomorrow.

Hello everyone sorry for the late check in I spent the first week of september at a fly in bear hunting lodge and the WIFI was not agreeing with my phone, then I spent a week on vacation with the family. My name is Greg and I hunt northern Michigan. I shoot a Martin Pantera and will be using Rage Hyperdermics this year. They opened my bear up nicely and I am hoping they do the same on a nice deer. I wish I had some trail cam pictures to share but unfortunately I spent the first half of the year fighting cancer and recovering from a stem cell transplant. Ill be hunting an area that has produced in the past unfortunately I'm on a wing and a prayer this year but at least I'm here to hunt.

Wow. Greg sounds like u have had one heck of a year. Congrats on your bear and more importantly your recovery. It's not an easy battle but it sounds like you are pretty positive about it. I think a good attitude is crucial in the battle.

Ya. I'd say blue tongue / ehd. Whatever u wanna call it. Number 3 so far. We had it really ba last year and two years before that. Last year I found over 30 and we don't have very many deer to begin with

Good luck out there Pines!!!!! I should be able to knock down a doe fairly quick and easy. Opening day here is in 10 days. I will be checking the cams probably on Friday so if I get anything decent I will post it here. Everyone feel free to try and come up with an avatar. That will be the last thing we have to do to get our team thread rolling. Let's keep it going we currently lead in posts. Everyone keep us updated on all your hunts. I've done 8 Euro mounts now. It's really not that hard to do. It just takes practice. I've refined my technique over the years. If you want me to walk you through it let me know.

I think I might be crazy. I knew there was a storm coming in last night. I could see it. Temps were dropping and I still found myself perched in a stand getting rained on trying to fill a doe tag. I almost closed the deal on a doe a couple times but the wind was roaring and swirled a few times. I did have 2 2yr old buck come right under my stand. They were acting really weird. They came running at me, then ran back to where they came from. Then came running back again and just stood there at 15 yds for 15 minutes then walked off.

Shawn I'm going to try and get that score sheet done tonight. Who knows maybe I measured wrong and he'll score a little more. Be safe out there guys. Been hearing a lot of preventable tragedies while hunting this year already.
