Not yet bro, as soon as the butcher calls me I will pick up the deer and score the rack. Shouldn't be more than a couple days.

going out this afternoon.... bringing my 9 year old daughter along... so not expecting much success... lol she has been gun hunting with me before, but never bow. I put a double ladder for this years's gun season with hopes of her taking her first deer this year out of it.
She has already taken 2 turkeys.... one at age 7 and one at age 8.
maybe we will get lucky tonight... she wants to shoot one w/ her bow... but not quite there yet ;)

Good Luck! Took my 7 yr old daughter out with me during muzzleloader season last year. Had a group of 6-7 turkeys come by and I was trying to show them to her. She kept looking out the blind, then goes " THERE THEY ARE". Of course they weren't there much longer:)

I leave on 10/25 for 8 days in PA and then have a weeks vacation in VA starting 11/7. Things are going to be picking up soon.

not much going on here... went out w/ Daughter Friday, but saw nothing.. but had a blast:) Checked cam and had a nice 8pt for our area there a couple times last week. 5:30am and 12:30 am... checking the does.
Sat Sun am and had 2 does come in and a small 6 pt. went that pm and had one come in at dark... sounded like it was chasing something, but only one deer walked around me at dark... stayed in the cover the whole time and never came into open where I might get a glimpse w/ binoc.

The butcher just called and said my deer is ready. I will try to pick it up tomm. after work and have the rack scored and posted by Saturday evening. Goodluck out there guys and be safe.

All is well Dave, I've been busy chasing things around here and there (like usual). I help a 66 y/o Illlinois resident get his first shot ever at an elk this past weekend. It was a dandy 6x6 bull. Sadly it was missed...

finally a frost this am... nice n cool. I'm hoping to get out this afternoon and Sat AM...

Getting reports of some fighting and chasing in our area. Starting to see does hit on the side of the highway too. All signs pointing to next week being the right week to be off work. I'll be heading out Sunday for a 6-day hunt!

Funny you say that Wallhangr... saw 2 does on sided of road yesterday afternoon dead. Had a new 8 show up in one spot at 2:30am pushing does on cam yesterday AM. Sat that spot yesterday w/ no deer seen.
Also had a new 4pt show up at another spot close by

Picked up my meat and the rack from the butcher late last night. I plan on hunting all day Friday and the weekend. I will find some time to score the rack and get it posted NLT Monday evening.

i see posts for teams how do you join a team and are there any open spots?

Shooter, you would have to go to the alternate sign up to see if they need any alts to fill teams

had a spike under me at first light Sun Am. Button Fiday pm... not much going on

been dead... seems like my spots are slowing down rather than heating up.

Well I still have not shot anything but did see my first shooter of the year. He made a scrape about 10 yards from the base of my tripod.....but he never offered up a shot. He was basically behind me and needed to go anywhere except where he did. I will not be headed back out for a couple of weeks but by then the acorns should be gone and the deer should be on more of a pattern.

won't be out much other than weekends now around here... work amping up and w/ daylight savings time coming, it gets tough to get out.
I do head out to Western NY on the 10th and hunt 11th to 14th. This is where I have shot 4 of my largest bucks to date.

Going to hit it hard this weekend and this afternoon. Seeing good signs and hope to arrow something... GL..

I have an arrow in a 130ish tonight. Backed out and going to look in the morning. PRAY FOR ME....I hit him a little back and thought it would be best. It didn't pass through either. This is the third deer I shot with a rage 2 blade without a pass through. The first three deer I shot with them were passes... This buck was in full rut trailing a doe and grunting. Didn't look up one time. FULL RUT BUCK in NW INDIANA....

Good deal Mark, I am sure you will find him. A little on me, started a new job last Monday and life has been pretty hectic. Got my rack back over a week ago and have not had five minutes to myself to score it. I am determined that will happen this morning after breakfast.

Plan on trying to hunt this afternoon. Anyways sorry for the delay but sometimes life get's in the way.

I had a heck of a week in the woods. Had deer all over Monday am, turkeys too. No shooters til Halloween night, had one come in to about 40yds but no clear shot. He was a moose! The next morning had 2 come off the hill in front of me, the first was a little guy who passed within ten yds. The second was the buck I saw last month that I posted about. Turns out he's a ten, probably goes around 130. He stopped broadside at 40 but was blocked by the only tree between us.

that's one helluva buck Mark! He's gotta go more than 130!!!! Congrats brother!!!!!! Nice pics on FB too!
Way to go... that'll put some points on the board!

Congrats Mark. Great buck. Work as been crazy but I am trying to take off Friday and Monday. Time will tell.

Been very slow here... seems like as the rut has heated up, the pics have slowed down considerably in my spots. Can't figure it out.
