Hey guys, how was your weekend ? Anybody have any luck at all ? Spent most of sat out in blind and sun morning in stand. Had a football party to be at yesterday so didn't get in afternoon hunt. Heading out tomorrow all day if it doesn't rain all day. If it does will sit in blind.

Heading to the Virginia hills tomorrow for a week of solo hunting. I was able to hunt the refuge the past 4 evenings but haven't been seeing much within range and nothing with horns. Don't know how it is in your area, but seems like acorns are non-existent around here...on the ground or still on the tree! If that's how it's going to be in the hills, I'll have to adjust. Plenty of hay fields with clover that should draw a secondary browse.

Spent last week mule deer hunting (archery) at Matador WMA Texas. No luck. Headed to Hagerman NWR for a draw hunt this Friday. Maybe one of the big boys will step out in front of me.

Killed a doe this evening! Slicktricks did what they needed to do. Had a 15 minute staredown with her and I won! Had 14 deer within 100 yards and this one present the best opportunity. Of the 14, one was a small 6 pt and one was a basket 8. Didn't seem like any rut activity going on! Will need to wait until I het home to post pics, hard to to from a smartphone.
