RE: washington bow hunters
I bowhunt for elk, mostly; I have flip-flopped a bit with modern and muzzle as seasons/units have changed and as the mood strikes me.
I think the most interesting topic of late is the consideration by the WDFW to change the dates for early bow elk in WW. Ceck the website if you havn't seen the proposals. They might change to later in Sept., or go back to Oct. 1, or leave it as is.
What do you guys think?
I'm not crazy about Sept. 1 opener- esp. in fire danger years. But I know a lot of guys from WA who hunt the early season in Oregon which comes very close to coinciding with ours in WA. If they open ours later it will likely mean increased competition on our elk opener from WA hunters returning and OR guys, at least in SW.
