RE: 35 whelen
maybe thirty years ago I fired a friends .35 whelen.....it was a custom '98 mauser built by Cap Ahlman in Morristown Minnesota. The bullet was a 250 grain Hornady and the barrel was a converted .300 savage barrel.....the thing had a shortened barrel...it was maybe 20" and in total the entire gun was maybe under 6 pounds. Oh yes.....a birdseye maple stock to boot!!!!
I have only one thing to say about this thing's recoil......OUCH!!!!!
