I took both rifle and bow, over Thanksgiving, to Cullman County Alabama-I have a goal to collect a good deer from every state. Since the two deer a day limit is so liberal, I really anticipated a deer behind every bush. I hunted through eight sits and hardy saw deer! The seven I did see were sticking tight to heavy cover and were on the move. Getting a shot with my bow was impossible. I tried bleating a doe three times, I even screamed "hey!" She stopped for nothing! In the end, I used my Ruger to kill both a buck and a doe. The buck is not the biggest, but according to trail cameras, he was the biggest in the area. As always, I wish I could have spent more time in Alabama. I was really starting to figure out the tactics of the hunt.
