I'm Joe I Live in Central IL and I am shotgun hunting this year in Wayne County IL and Ohio County IN.

I'm gonna be hunting in Southern Maine, not many huge bucks but there is a lot of deer where I hunt. Unfortunately this is the first year that I put in for a doe tag and didn't get one. I've been hunting for 6 years. I'm 16 and have shot 3 deer. My first deer in 2008 was a 115 lb doe. In 2009 I shot 98 lb doe. And last year I shot a 140" class buck that weighed 178 lbs. This year if I see antlers its down, size doesn't matter. We had two hard winters in a row and its putting a beating on the deer. I'll be lucky to even see a buck with 8+ points on it. I do have one pic of a 120 class 7 pointer but I haven't seen him since late July.

Was someone planning on making a team picture? Because I wouldn't mind making one if you guys wanted.

I'm here. Hunting north east Kansas. Early management season opens this weekend for us. Probably go up to my tried and true public spot Saturday and get my doe. Gonna wait till regular season/colder weather to hit my private land and look for a buck. Too warm for me still to sit too long being eaten by the mosquitos.

Jcarver go ahead and make one up and let us take a look at it.

Morning! I just signed up and checking in..... I hunt NE Indiana looking forward to a great season hopefully I can help the team out this year with one of the nice bucks I have been seeing on camera.

Awesome schaffee10! Welcome to the team. Well, I have the day off so I am heading to the gun range with both m y muzzleloaders to make sure they are shooting right. I might try to sneek off this afternoon, and sit in a tree for a while with my bow.

Well since this is a contest for gun hunters I was just curious what everyones weapon of choice was. I will be bringing the thunder with my new savage 220 with a nikon prostaff shotgun hunter mounted on top of it.

I plan on using my Rem Model 700 LSS in 7RUM out on the plains of SD and my Rem Model 700 .260 Mountain Rifle in the woods of PA. How about the rest of you?

For our gun season, I will be using my CVA Accura V2 scoped with a Konus Scope.
For our Muzzleloader season, I will be using my CVA Wolf, with the Williams peep sight.

Weapon of choice is a Remington model 7400 in 30-06 topped with a Leupold and Hornady 180 grain Superformance sst's.

Sweet we have a full team now! I don't mind being captain. Is there anyone else who wants to be captain? We can have some kind of vote.

You got my vote JCarver! Checked my cams lastnight, and got this stud. Got a bunch of pics of this same buck last year, but he didnt show up until the first part of November, and hung around intil the first part of December. Hope I get some more pics of him. What do you think he would score?




Here are a couple of him last year.

Dang that's a big buck! I would say right around 150" Go get em!

Checking in, sorry im late! Got some nice bucks on camera here in upstate Ny 130 and 140 class deer no doubt. We will see how it goes although my season doesn't open until late November. That sure is a monster BigDaddy12t defiantly at least 145. Good luck boys!

I checked my cam over the weekend and got a few decent buck for my area in PA.

Nice bucks Tim! I would be proud to take either one of them. Well, I managed to get another picture of the big 8.

Just checked back in.....good see this thread moving right along! First welcome to everyone glad to see we have full team! Secondly I will be using my old Ruger 77/44, no high power rifles in Indiana but we can use handgun loads in rifles thus the reason for the 77/44. I have not been back out to check our cameras for a couple weeks but we are seeing a lot of bucks moving around right now. Got a few good shooters and one wall hanger. He dosen't look more then 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 but his length is impressive...see for yourself!

Schaffee10, I will be hunting way down in Ohio county IN this year. I know its on the other side of the state but you can let that deer know if he isn't gonna walk in front of you this season he is more than welcome to take the trip down to see me! :)

That's a great Buck Schaffee10! Man, if we can hook up with a few of these deer we will be in good shape for the contest.

Its been pretty quiet on here lately, but we need to choose a captain within the next few days, I don't want to be docked points or be penalized and I don't think you guys wanna either hahaha.

First person to volunteer for captain gets my vote.......

I finally got out bow hunting earlier this week, had 2 small 4 pts moving around, one came right under my stand finally looked up at me after sniffing around. Never did figure out what I was but he knew something wasn't right...love it when they get that close to you. Going out again on Sunday. We only get one buck here and I am hoping for the teams sake that the big 10 I am hunting doesn't show himself until gun season.

I don't mind being captain, I volunteered earlier. Make sure you get that buck! haha
