Here in Illinois.. We are allowed 2 bucks by any means per year.... (bow, shotgun, pistol, muzzleloader) and we are unlimited with does... Archery tags can be bought over the counter for $26.50 (that is for one either sex and one antlerless). You can go back as many times as you need to for more tags... Then gun season (shotgun, muzzleloader, pistol only....1 week long split into two seasons 1st 3 days, 2nd 4 days). Then we have a muzzleloader only season (2 weekends... 1st weekend is in conjunction with the 2nd season gun). As a finale we have an antlerless only season in January.. Leftover gun tags are then available over the counter to whack as many does as you can...lol... I normally end up with 6-9 deer a year.. We eat 5 and donate the rest to shelters... Still waiting on October 1st here!!!!

Glad to have you on board. Now that we have a full team, time to do some serious hunting.

My season started last weekend but I won't be in the woods until the first weekend in October. My hunting land is a 5 hours drive away and my trips north are being rationed until the rut draws nearer. With fewer trips north, I'm planning on 3-4 day weekend hunts in early October and mid October and then a couple of full weeks in November. Finally saved up enough vacation to spend some select time in the woods.

Good Luck.

Received my permit to hunt my honey hole in the mail today. Can't get access into it until the first day. Always see good buck in this area, just never close enough for a clean shot

Hey boys, how is everyone doing? Not much going on on my end. Been out 4 times so far, and have yet to see a buck. Had 4 does out front of my ground blind lastnight, the biggest one was about 6 steps. But with all those eyes on me, there was no way to draw my bow. Found out that I might have all next week off, (not by choice) so hopefully I will have lots of time to be in a stand.

Getting ready to head out for an afternoon sit. Never thought I would hear myself say this, but I am sure getting sick of these North winds. My best stand right now is setg up for a South wind. Oh well, cant kill them sitting on the couch.
