Actually, I deer hunted with this rifle the first year I bought it and took a nice 10 pt. However, the rifle was scoped. I am planning to hog hunt in a month or so, and got to looking at the rifle and thinking that I liked the look of it better without the scope but I wasn't sure how well I could shoot it open sighted. Now I know, I can shoot it well enough to do what I want to do.

I agree with the quality of Ruger products. I own half dozen Ruger pistols and the Ruger Red Label O/U shotgun. They are all extremely reliable and sturdy firearms. This 77/50 is equally as good and accurate.

All I need now is to puta big toothyporker in front of my sights!
