Keep plugging away curtis. We want to see one of those gobblers hanging over your shoulder.

Sorry to report that my season's over with no bird. My fault though, I missed one at 15 yds. Sat. evening. When a quiet bird comes in and gives you about 5-7 seconds to snap out of your coma, (sat for about 5 hours that day), it's a tough situation. Bird came in from the brush on my left and appeared at 18yds walking right into my 12 o'clock position. Got the red dot turned on, safety off and gun up without him spooking, but took the shot the second I saw the red dot on his neck. If I had calmed myself and settled the gun and gave a cluck on the mouth call we would be scoring another 50 points. Even worse, my follow up shot was a misfire with factory hevi-shot. Dent in the primer, no bang. Sorry fellows you'll have to do it without me this year.

They did not smell you. I would bet they saw you long before you saw them and got out of there.

NO BIRDS IN SIGHT OR SOUND THIS WEEK. OLD TIMER SAID THEY WERE DONE BREEDING TWO WEEKS AGO. MAY GET ONE MORE CHANCE THIS WEEK SOMETIME. HATE TO LET YOU ALL DOWN AS I WOULD HAVE HOPED FOR SOMETHING WITH ALL THE TIME I PUT IN. Sorry about caps, just noticed.

Default any hope?

Is anyone still hunting? Would of been nice to get a couple more teammates scoring some birds. Oh well i guess thats why the call it hunting and not killing. I think a couple team members have not posted at all. Lets hear some stories, if it wasn't for luck i would be eating tag soup this year!

scored on a ny gobbler this morning, hunted this bird 3 - 4 other times this season (an hour away from my house), finally found his fault...

16.25lbs, 10 5/16" beard, one spur at 1 3/16" other at 1 3/8", good hunt on second to last day!

Your score is 16.25 + 13.75 + 11.875 + 20.625 = 62.5

after another one tomorrow and then season is over up here!!

Hey MD!
Them's some awesome looking spurs on that bad boy. Looks like a limbhanger to me. Congrat's on a nice bird. A good example of what can happen when you stick with it.
