Thanks! We had an interesting morning. Turkeys gobbling everywhere (10 different birds within 1.5 mile radius) ran in circles...moved three times...and couldn't get a shot at 20 yards. They really responded to the box call but we couldn't get the decoys out in time. Came in much faster than we expected and used the woods instead of walking through the field. They swung way right along a fence line and flanked us. When I had a shot he didn't and eventually they heard us whispering(trying to say 'ready') and they got out of there. A down tree prevented two more dead birds. I'm going to try to get back on them this afternoon.

Guys, I just back from Texas hunting the LBJ Grasslands in Decatur and had a wet but successful trip. I got two birds, the larger of the two weighing 22 lbs. 6 oz. He will replace my previously high scoring bird. He had a 10 inch beard, 1 inch spurs, and officially scores 62.375. My other bird is a super jake. He weighed 16 lbs. 12 oz., has a 6 inch beard, and 1/2 inch spurs. The weather cleared for me Monday and the wind died down. Everything was wet and muddy after two solid days of rain, but the two days I hunted were perfect. I killed the jake Monday and the longbeard this morning.

Supperstrutter you are fast becoming my hero. I think you have killed more birds in a short amount of time than anyone I know. Any tips to your success would be helpful. Great job I'm glad I'm on your team!!

Great job supperstrutter! You have killed more birds this season than I have killed in my turkey hunting career. The next two days are supposed to be nice so I'm gonna get back out this afternoon and tomorrow morning. We are supposed to get some bad weather this weekend.

Any help on how to sand a copper pot. Worked great and had good sound but got worse as I kept working it. Now I can't seem to get the sound back. It has a white ash? striker.
