I have not really noticed a change in there behavior when it is windy. It is really just a nuisance more than anything. I was out this morning it was blowing around 20-25mph and the turkeys were in there usual spots. I would recommend using a higher frequency call if you have one so the sound will carry more.

Sorry mud, the wife is not very good with the camera.

Well I leave in the morning to go out to neb. for some merriams.
I have three tags and am looking forward to the opener on sat morning. Maybe I'll be able to put a couple more (atleast) on the board for us. If I have tags left after this weekend we will go back out in late may. The weather looks good and im ready.

Good luck to you guys that are hunting now. I'll let everyone know on sunday night or monday morning on how the trip went.

Good luck in the morning mud!

I finally got a hold of the farmer tonight. He has been a busy man trying to get as much done before it started to rain. He gave me the go ahead to hunt his ground and as far a I know I am the only one how can. I have been watching several good toms using it. I going to be running a pretty boy in the morning I have never use one before so this should be interesting.

Default Best day in the turkey woods

Well team I have three more to add to the score. I filled all three tags on sat in nebraska, nothing big but all were mature. It was a hunt of a life time. I shot the first one at 7:05, he flew out of the roost and came right in. The 2nd was at 10:15, spotted a group in a field and got in front of them a called one of the toms right to me. The 3rd was at 4:30, I had set up in a roost area for the afternoon and was just calling sparingly when he showed up. A very awesome day in the turkey woods. I dont have pictures yet but will post them after my buddy gets them downloaded and sent to me. He also filled his three tags on sat. 6 longbeards in one day WOW is all I can say.

So I was playing with the calculator and came up with =
bird 1=Your score is 20.3125 + 6.875 + 2.5 + 18 = 47.6875
bird 2=Your score is 23 + 8.75 + 8.125 + 18 = 57.875
bird 3=Your score is 22 + 10 + 10.625 + 16 = 58.625

Does this sound right to you camokenny?
Total of 154.1875+74=238.1875
