Team #1 Last Gobble - 2009 Champions

Welcome to the team and we are really glad to have you.
This is a really fun contest and I want to repeat tschaef's comments that you should not feel pressure to contribute at all. The purpose is to have fun and meet some new people here in cyperspace who love to turkey hunt. We have a good mix if young and "experienced" hunters from several states including a crazy "furiner" from somewhere in the frozen north where it snows constantly.
The only thing I ask as captain is that you contribute as much as you can to the team thread, encourge others, and have fun. That's it brother.
We probably got a little lucky last year, but we'll take it. Out of the 9 of us that actually "showed up" 7 teammembers checked a bird. Two of those were very high-scoring double bearded turkeys (tschaef and Fl.huntress) which really helped our score. We got off to a roaring start and kept the momentum going. Tschaef took that 80pt double beard in Canada then Pinsapex put us over the top by putting down the bow and busting a jake near the end of the season and we pulled it off.
FYI - my son is doallhunter and a teammember of The Last Gobble. His birthday is Friday and he'll be 14.
Welcome once again to the best team in the contest, the defending champions, Team #1, The Last Gobble

While I'm not a betting man... of the two team members who didn't kill birds last year... I'd put money that at least one of them (me) is going to be coming back with all the wrath and fury of The Almighty on them this spring.
First year in the last 9 I haven't tagged a minimum of one.

Andy - I've been known to place a bet or two and I'm not scared to wager that you will start a new streak in 2010

This is great. I can't believe it took me so long to find this forum. Pretty cool that there is a father son combo on the team as well. Also, are we going to be making avatars for the team?
oneshotgilly and VB40. Welcome!

Welcome oneshot and gilly. Your in good company here, looking forward to hearing from you.
Everything is coming together up here in the great white north. Got my stuck choke tube out, bought some bolts for the x-bow, and some arrows for the compound (no sunday gun hunting). Toronto sportsman show is around the corner, Adrian J Hare (a member) is doing a seminar on calling so I plan to sit in on that.
Haven't seen the birds on the farm in a while but they are still in flocks up here, and the flocks are nearby. Plus there is always public land if they don't show by mid-season.
It won't be long now boys and girls.
Cheers

One of our teammembers, Hoghuntingunlimited (Hog) made the avatar that is in tschaef's post. He has the original file. We are waiting for him to remove the "2" from last years "Team 21", thus making it "Team 1".
We'll get it done and circulated.

Can we put a big gaudy Burger King-esque crown on our turkey as well just to remind everyone who is on the throne?
